Ceramic suppliers sell paperclay in a ready-to-use form.
The most common types of paperclay are the following :
white smooth stoneware,
cream grogged stoneware,
porcelain.
Paperclay could be prepared by combining dry clay and paper.
All clay's type could be used : earthenware, stoneware, porcelain.
Toilet paper is easy to transform in pulp. Recycling papers such as newsprint are useful to prepare big batches, but need a blender.

1. Disperse dry clay in water (equal weight of each) to get an homogenous clay slip

2. Dip a toilet paper roll in a bucket full of water. Mix until it breaks down and becomes homogeneous

3. Sieve the paper pulp

4. Add the pulp to the clay slip until you get 30% more volume. Mix the paperclay slip

5. Pour the paper slip on a plaster surface and let it stiffen
6. Wedge the paperclay : it is now ready to use
